Our Mission

The mission of the Women's Center of Rhode Island is
to end interpersonal violence. We seek to empower all
we serve thorough culturally competent programs that
provide safety, shelter and court advocacy to victims of
domestic violence. We work collaboratively to prevent
the occurrence of violence and to educate the community
about the dynamics of violence

Cash Donations
With your financial support, The Women's Center of RI can continue it's work to support victims of domestic violence. Click here to donate online, or mail your donation to:

$35 buys a family breakfast, lunch, dinner and a healthy snack with milk.
$50 is enough to purchase a week's worth of milk for the shelter.
$75 is enough to buy baby supplies (diapers, wipes, etc.) for a month.
$150 will cover the shelter's grocery bill for one week.

Cell Phones

Did you know your old cell phone could be worth up to $30!?

We collect used/unwanted cell phones from the community and send them to
a company that refurbishes or recycles the phones and then sends the
WCRI a check for the value of the phones. We collect any and all cell
phones of any age, make or model and in any condition. Please leave the
phones only as we do not collect chargers, belt clips, or hands-free
devices. Those items are not recyclable and will end up being thrown
away.

Collect Phones for Us
We are always looking for locations in Providence with parking and/or
are easy to access for our donors to drop in and donate their used cell

We are also looking for in-kind donations for both the shelter and the administrative offices. Our wish lists include the following items:

Shelter Wish List
Please Note:
- We do not accept donations in large trash bags.
- We do not accept used stuffed animals in any condition.
- For health and sanitary reasons, we can only accept new clothing.

-Due to space constraints, we cannot accept furniture donations. If you would like to donate furniture, please call the RI Donation Exchange at 401-831-5511. Our clients use this program to furnish their new homes.
