Details: Providence and East Providence residents of all ages are encouraged to submit artwork depicting holiday and/or winter scenes appropriate for the Women Center of Rhode Island's holiday appeal card. Entries that are inclusive of all religions and holiday celebrations as well as those that are non-denominational in content will be most favorably considered. What: Beyond Beats and Rhymes: A Hip-Hop Head Weighs In On Manhood in Hip-Hop Culture

Details: The evening will include a showing of Beyond Beats and Rhymes - A groundbreaking documentary film that takes an in-depth look at machismo in rap music and hi-hop culture - where exciting creativity, addictive rhythms and intoxicating beats collide with blatant misogyny, cavalier violence and deeply rooted homophobia. The film will be followed by a Question & Answer Session with the film's director, Byron Hurt.
**Due to graphic language and content, this event is recommended for students high school age and above.**
